Beginning in April, NWCF’s BootCamp program will be based on a new training method called HybridX HIIT Training.
HIIT training is not new, in fact, it has been around for many years. HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training. It is the most effective way known for getting in the best shape possible. HIIT workouts are carefully crafted to target your muscle groups for toning, strength and cardio. If you want to look great naked and also be able to run up a mountain carrying your friends on your back, then this is your program! All joking aside, this training is deliberate, purposeful and full body and is known to shape your body like no other workout developed.
There are 4 basic themes and they play on each other in each of the workouts:
- Circuit Training (completing sets of a particular exercise then moving onto another)
- AMRAPS (as many reps as possible in a set period of time)
- Tabatas intervals (implemented work and rest, preset timed workouts)
- Supersets (using 2 to 4 different exercises back to back with little to no rest in between)
Our HIIT Classes are universally scaleable for every person regardless of fitness level, age, ability and strength. It is safe, easy to do at any level, completely self managed which means you only do what you are able to do or want to do. What you put in is what you get out. There is no judgement. Everyone is treated equally and we support all your efforts. We ask all our members to have no ego, be coachable, be supportive and have fun!
For those accustomed to CrossFit workouts, you will find many similarities in the exercises you perform, but one that you won’t find is the broad randomness. These HIIT workouts are designed to work specific push/pull kinetic chain movement patterns in a hypertrophy(develop and sculpt muscle) aimed system that compliment each other. We will design the workouts with keeping a balance of load, volume and time in mind for maximum effectiveness. For example; if we are on an “A Day”, the focus will be Shoulders-Back-Legs and Abs. If we are on a “B Day”, the workouts will be focused on Chest-Lats-Low back and Hamstrings. If it is a “C Day” it will be full body using elements from A and B in a circuit type concept with a focus on Cardio and Stamina.
